Before installation begins, we evaluate what your floor is being installed over, including concrete slabs, wood subfloors, or existing flooring that must be removed. Each surface behaves differently and must be prepared accordingly to support a stable, long-lasting installation.
Concrete Slabs, Condensation, and “Sweating” Floors
Concrete slabs are one of the most common subfloors for LVP installations, and they require special consideration. While concrete doesn’t technically “sweat,” it can collect moisture through condensation when warm, humid air meets a cooler slab surface.

Ram Clan Flooring builds a controlled expansion gap—typically between 1/4" and 1/2"—around the perimeter of every installation and at fixed vertical surfaces. This space allows the floor to move freely without creating pressure that could lead to buckling, gapping, or joint failure.

Baseboard Installation & Trim Options
-We offer full baseboard installation using the style selected by the client, allowing the finished floor to blend seamlessly with the home’s design. Baseboards provide a clean visual transition between the flooring and walls while helping protect wall surfaces from daily wear.
-To properly cover the expansion gap required for LVP flooring, we install either quarter round or shoe molding, depending on client preference and the overall look of the space. These trim pieces allow the floor to move naturally while maintaining a polished edge along all walls and fixed vertical surfaces.
Clean Caulking & Seamless Transitions
-All trim work is finished with clean, sleek caulking using either white or color-matched materials to blend naturally with the baseboards and surrounding finishes. This final step softens transitions, closes small visual gaps, and delivers a refined, cohesive look throughout the space.
